Our process

A calm, clear path from worry to a safer home.

Most families call us during a stressful stretch — after a fall, before a discharge, or when a parent quietly stops using part of their own home. Our job is to make the next step simple: look carefully, explain plainly, price honestly, and install well.

Step 1

Free Home Safety Assessment

We visit, listen, and look at the home the way it's actually used. A specialist comes to the house at a time that works for the family. We ask what's become difficult or worrying — stairs, the front steps, getting in and out of the shower — then walk the home and note elevation changes, stair layouts, doorway widths, floor transitions, lighting, and where there's nothing solid to hold. There's no charge and no obligation.

Step 2

Personalized Recommendations

Options matched to your home, your goals, and your budget. We explain which accessibility solutions fit the space and which don't, and why. Often there are two or three legitimate paths — a ramp or a platform lift, a stair lift or relocating a bedroom — and we lay out the trade-offs in plain language so the household can decide.

Step 3

Clear Proposal

One written scope with itemized pricing, before anything begins. You receive a written proposal covering exactly what we'd install, what it costs, what we recommend doing first, and what can wait. If a permit, electrical work, or another trade is involved, it's named up front rather than added later.

Step 4

Professional Installation

Installed cleanly, tested, and demonstrated before we leave. Our installers protect finishes, keep the home livable, and finish the work on the schedule you approved. Every installation is tested and demonstrated with the person who will use it, and we adjust on the spot until it's right.

Pricing

How pricing works

Accessibility work varies enormously from home to home, so we don't publish flat prices we'd have to walk back. What we can promise is how the number gets built.

Free consultation and written quote

The in-home assessment and the written scope cost nothing. You keep the plan whether or not you hire us.

Priced by scope, not by pressure

Smaller safety work — grab bars, handrails, threshold ramps, lever handles, offset hinges — is priced per item plus installation. Larger work like tub-to-shower conversions, stair lifts, and full bathroom accessibility remodels is quoted as a project scope after the assessment.

No surprise change orders

If we uncover something behind a wall or under a floor, we stop, show you, and re-quote before continuing. You approve any change in writing first.

Honest about what we don't do

We don't quote sight-unseen over the phone, and we don't recommend work a home doesn't need. If your situation calls for an occupational therapist, contractor, or medical equipment supplier instead, we'll tell you.

Timelines

How long the work takes

Typical ranges once your scope is approved. Urgent safety work — a grab bar before a parent comes home from the hospital — gets prioritized whenever we can.

Grab bars, handrails, thresholds, door hardware
Usually one visit
Doorway widening, ramps, entry modifications
1–3 days
Stair lift installation
Typically 1 day after equipment arrives
Tub-to-shower conversion or accessible shower
Commonly 1–2 weeks
