Accessible Showers in Orange County

Step in easily. Wash comfortably. Stay steady.

Curbless and low-threshold showers remove the step that causes most bathroom trouble. We build accessible showers that are genuinely easy to use — and that look like a high-end remodel, not a medical fixture.

The problem

What this solves

An accessible shower is more than a missing curb. Drainage has to be planned so water goes where it should, the entry needs to be wide enough for a walker or wheelchair if that matters to you, and the controls should be reachable from both inside and just outside the spray.

We commonly include a bench or fold-down seat, a handheld shower on a slide bar, non-slip floor tile sized for good traction, and grab bars positioned for the way you actually move through the space.

The finishes are ordinary remodeling finishes — tile, glass, stone, and quality fixtures — so the room reads as a beautiful bathroom that happens to be easy to use.

Accessible Showers projects

We photograph completed accessible showers installations only with the homeowner's written permission, so this gallery grows as those approvals come in. The image below is representative of the type of installation described on this page rather than a specific customer's home.

Why Magnolia Home Access

A specialized accessibility company, not a side service

Accessibility is the whole business

We aren't a general remodeler adding grab bars on the side. Residential accessibility is what we do every day.

Assessment before any price

We look at the actual home before quoting, so the written number reflects your stairs, walls, and site — not an average.

Planned with the household

Placement and controls are set with the person who will use them, and family members are welcome to join by phone.

The person who assesses is the person who installs

No salesperson hands you off to a subcontractor. The same person who walks your home and writes your proposal does the installation, so nothing gets lost in between.

FAQ

Accessible Showers questions we hear often

What is a curbless shower?

It is a shower with no raised lip at the entry, so the floor runs level from the bathroom into the shower. It removes the step that causes many bathroom falls and makes entry possible with a walker or wheelchair.

Will water stay in a curbless shower?

Yes, when it is built correctly. The floor is sloped toward the drain and the waterproofing extends beyond the shower area. Correct drainage planning is the difference between a great curbless shower and a persistent problem.

Can my existing shower be made more accessible without a full remodel?

Often, yes. Adding grab bars, a fold-down seat, a handheld shower, and better lighting can meaningfully improve a shower that is otherwise workable. We will tell you honestly which path fits your bathroom.

How long does an accessible shower project take?

It varies with scope and material lead times. We give you a realistic schedule with your proposal and keep you updated as the work progresses.
